Community Managed Micro Finance (CMMF)

Aridland Development Programme in partnership with Stromme Foundation East Africa has implemented Community Managed Micro Finance (CMMF) project in Abim, Kotido and Kaabong in 2016.

Community Managed Micro Finance is a community economic empowerment programme whose goal is to increase access to financial services for the rural poor and marginalized communities who have not been reached with formal banking and financial services.

ADP has contributed in the formation and capacity building of Self Help Affinity groups in group dynamics, life skills, right based approach, business and entrepreneurship skills to have a financial base to enable them inculcate savings culture and establish development and credit linkages for increased accessed to financial services.

Community Managed Micro Finance Project has reached 5,910 members (3,972 women and 1,653 men) in Abim, Kotido and Kaabong since 2012. Individuals and communities reached have demonstrated improved social and economic status that can be attributed to the CMMF project.
